James Joyce in Paris

Once again celebrating Bloomsday the evening included readings from the novel with an insight into, and celebration of, the author's life in Paris.

It threw a spotlight on the importance of Sylvia Beach, the owner of Shakespeare & Co, and the publisher Harriet Weaver, in making publication of Ulysses possible.

Readings were by Nora Connolly and Oengus Macnamara.

Music was provided by Bow and Bellows ( Sally Davies and Martine Schwarz) on violin, euphonium, accordion, and vocals.

The performance took place upstairs at the Wheatsheaf, Rathbone Place in June 2013.
