One Night in Soho

A cornucopia of literary, decadent, and risqué delights provided by denizens of Soho through the ages. The evening's readings came from the works and reminiscences of Thomas de Quincey, George Melly, Ronnie Scott, Rimbaud, Samuel Johnson, Lenny Bruce, Karl Marx, Francis Bacon, Muriel Belcher and many more.

The music was an evocation of Soho , including Lola,  Blues Run the Game, Bright Lights Big City, a tune by Bert Jansch, and a William Blake poem set to music by The Fugs.

Performers were Daniel Dresner and Rebecca Steele, and on guitars Rick Sanders and Jim Gosney.

This was our first show at the Soho Parish School in Archer Street, which was a particularly apt setting.

First performance was in November 2012, the second in March 2013, and a one -off shortened version by request at the Charing Cross Library in September 2013.
